Documents Required to Apply for Residence in Paraguay

Identification document (passport, etc.);

Police or court records from the applicant's country of origin;

Birth certificate;

Civil state certificate (marriage, divorce, separation, widowhood);

Health certificate from the country of origin, or country of last residence;

Consular tourist visa for the countries that require it;

Proof of economic solvency that must be demonstrated by one of the following:

Deposit to a chequing or savings account at a Paraguayan bank in the amount
of at least five thousand dollars US ($5000.00 USD) or its equivalent value
in local or foreign currency. The bank account must be in the name of the
applicant; or

Real estate property deed of a property located in Paraguay; or
-
University diploma attached to an offer of employment or work
contract in Paraguay with the indication of the amount to be received in fees
or salary. A commercial license will not be accepted.

The documents stated in 2, 3, 4 and 5 must be legalized at the Paraguayan
consulate in the country of origin. The identification document does not require
legalization. For more information, please view the procedures for

Additional Required Documents To Obtain in Paraguay

Certificate issued by the National Police, Identifications Department of Paraguay;

Interpol certificate, issued by the regional office in Asuncion, Paraguay;

Life and residence certificate, issued by the jurisdictional police station;

Proof of legal entrance to the country (visa or sealed passport), issued by the
immigration authorities at the control posts (airports and border);
-
Six 3 x 3 identification colour photographs; and,
-
Affidavit stating that the applicant will abide by the laws of the country signed by
a notary public.
